Shiny Objects
Every day I get the question, "what's the latest and greatest in recruiting"--and I frequently find the answer depends on the diversity of your recruiting efforts and talent acquisition strategy.
An organization doesn't necessarily have to have the shiniest objects to be progressive and successful--they instead need the right combination of solutions appropriate for their recruiting needs.
Strategies like Search Marketing are proving to be extremely valuable in driving qualified candidate traffic, yet many companies have yet to embrace this tactic. It's admittedly not as fun as gadgets, widgets and gadverts (is this English?!) but it's highly effective and still relatively new in recruitment.
The newest ideas do have great value, and if we didn’t have companies willing to take the plunge we would all still be competing for candidates in the newspaper. But the key is to select the strategies that fit your specific goals. Not every company is going to find a silver bullet in blogging.
Don't be afraid to experiment, but please innovate responsibly!
