Top Brands and Visionary Brand Managers
What do Michael Dell and Steve Jobs have in common? Forget the first two or three obvious technology-based answers and think about how they manage their brands.
Think also about other great (i.e., well recognized) brands, like Nike, Amazon and Google. If you're like me, you'll also be thinking of Phil Knight, Jeff Bezos and Eric Schmidt.
Question is, what's the relationship between top brands and organizational leadership? Or put another way, who's hand's on the wheel when a major brand's in motion?
I just ran across an article--admittedly a bit dated--in Chief Executive magazine that sheds some interesting light on this relationship. If you're at all interested in the topic, it's a quick, informative read.
