Recruiting.com's TMP Blog Critique

Jim Durbin's been kind enough to provide a critique of TMP's blogging efforts to-date. It's a good read from a credible source.

I agree entirely with most of his comments--and where I don't, it's more of a quibble than a disagreement. For example, while I agree that there's something wrong with the "lone voice in the wilderness" blog model I'm not so sure that the consensus that's emerged around "being part of a larger conversation" as blogging's raison d'etre is, well, blogging's raison d'etre.

It seems to me that there is a place for both people who blog to publish on the quick and on the cheap (the lone voice model) and for folks who want to have a group chat with likeminded folks about what intests them--call this the "my blog is my email chain letter to the world" model.

Whatever. As I said, they're small quibbles. Overall, I think he's exactly right--particularly when it comes to the importance of saying something interesting often.

So I want to challenge the rest of you--but particularly Stephen and Joe--to post more often. I know you're busy. But listen, we're all busy. Nothing's more boring than sitting in an empty room waiting for someone to show up and start the party.
